I was fortunate to be raised in a family that truly appreciated time spent in nature. Family canoe trips, pet garter snakes, fishing, wildlife watching and after dinner walks were just a few of the experiences my folks took time to share with us.
Today many people, including myself, are so busy that we often don’t take a moment to stop and appreciate nature. Its not just about relaxing. Scientific studies are telling us that being connected to nature helps our health in many ways. Especially for young kids.
I hope through sharing some nature observations that the nature-loving volunteers from Carpenter Nature Center and I  will inspire you to take a moment to relax and enjoy the complexities and beauty of nature.
@JenVieth Great job on “Nature Notes from Carpenter Nature Center”. Even though this blog is on the Area Voices listings, no previous comments, except for a pingback. I hope others appreciate, as I do, your informative articles. Please place on your sidebar and/or this “about” page the main web address of Carpenter Nature Center. Also, I commented on the “Topics” post: Carpenter team rescues bald eagle from backyard. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the helpful words LibrarySense. I added the website to the header so hopefully that will help.
